The intricate cut and strict regulations followed during the manufacturing process give the idols high strength and durability.
The craftsmen acquired this particular skill from their
forefathers. In fact, these marble carvings take days and days of dedicated and
painstaking efforts. The tools they use- chisels, hammers, polishers- Are very
delicate so as to make the statues without any blemishes. For decoration
purpose the gold leaves or extremely thin sheets of gold, known as “Varak”
are pressed onto the statue.
The artists in Rajasthan carry a rich tradition in this
delicate and painstaking work. This can be used for gifting purposes or install
