Handloom Bed cover silk embroidered Kantha 60x90 inch Kantha Embroidery is the traditional embroidery from West Bengal. The craft is approximately 300 years old. The main fabrics used in the embroidery are Tussar and Silk and stitching is done with colorful cotton threads. Firstly the required designs are drawn on a paper and then traced on the fabric. Thereafter, stitching is done to draw the outlines of the motifs. Finally, the inside motifs are filled with colorful Kantha embroidery. In Kantha work single running stitch is used to cover the surface and the design. Originally, in Kantha Embroidery, the threads used were drawn from the border of the cloth. This bed cover is fully covered with running stitch, employing beautiful motifs of flowers and geometrical shapes as well as themes taken from day to day activities.
